Greetings,

About a month ago now, I updated my 2017 iMac from MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.6 to OS Ventura, as Apple kept pestering me to upload it what a mistake. I had "professional" help years ago setting this all up and thought I was ok.
After the update I was able to access the Windows 10 Partition in my VMware, briefly. I started to get all kinds of errors
The VMware just crashes when I attempt to open it now. I'd like to be able to get a backup of the VMware files on the disk so I can move them to another computer or get them working on this one.

Needless to say, the VMware is locked up now and I'm at a loss what to do. It's my business PC and I mostly used it with the VMware.
I can't even get the VMware to open anymore. I would like to know how to make a backup of the VMware as it's got all my corporate files as well as programs and drawings for clients. Can I do this with Vimalin software?

Thanks,
Recently, virtual cloud computers have been used a lot.
So if you are like me
Proper multi-socket communication requires activex.
1) Similar to irc chat, but simple (1:n) socket or chat
If a component is possible, please make a commercial product.

2) The main server runs on Linux (Sentos).
Alternatively, a specific computer acts as a server.
3) I tell the users who access through it
I want to quickly pass various commands.
Commands such as shutting down or rebooting the computer...
4) Private IP knows that 1:n is difficult.

Hi,

The previous forum over at https://forums.vimalin.com had started to become less ideal.

We used to run FluxBB for the forum software and while we always had been pretty happy with it, it was not getting any updates anymore. The last official update was in 2019...

Once software connected to the internet takes more than a year to get updates... it's starting to get a bit dubious and we were way past that stage by now. The github repository of FluxBB is also too silent.
So we looked around and found myBB.

Regular updates, great features and best of all, it offered a pretty good migration path from FluxBB.

Besides the update on the forum software we also moved the forums from vimalin.com over to antwise.com.
This should be a better fit over time as we want to offer community support for all products that we sell and not just 1 product.
The vimalin forum was already used for vimarun as well, so switching the domain to the company behind it made more sense than having to maintain multiple forums.

All threads have been migrated, all user accounts have been migrated and for any announcements of the last 2 years redirects have been configured so that the existing links continue to work.

Good Morning,

First of all, excuse me for my English.

A few days ago I found a reference to Vimalim on the vmware website.
I started to read a little about the operation of the program and I really liked it, since I thought it was a simple but powerful program.

So I installed it on the host where I have my VM hosted.
The first tests worked in a correct way, but for a few days it has not worked too well.
It takes a long time to do the backups (the last 398 minutes) and I don't know why.

My host has the following characteristics:
Mac Pro (early 2009)
Processor: 2x3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
Memory: 128GB 1333MHz DDR3

Only macOS Mojave is installed on the main HDD.
A Solid HDD is mounted in bay 2, where only the virtual machine is.
A 1TB mechanical HDD is mounted in bay 3, only to carry out backups.

MY VM is configured with:
6 processor cores.
16384 MB of memory.

For some reason the time it takes to make the backup is exorbitant and I would like to know if it can work faster before buying the paid version.

Thank you.

Hello.

Let's assume that I want to make a backup as often as it is possible.
- VMDK - 120 GB- system windows10 + database. Placed on SSD - about 550 MB read/write speed.
- phisical backup disk - about 550 MB read/write

Let's assume processor is about 3,6 -4,00 GHz -new generation - i5 - 4 real cores, 4 threads.

After 10 minuts the windows 10 goes, 50 MB data changed on disc 120GB VMDK- in database mainly - no windows updates etc.

Vimalin makes copy.

QUESTION:

From the start to the end - how quick is it done? How many minutes?
1. with packing method?
2. without packing method - without checking if the backup is correct (I know Vimalin can skip checking -
I saw somewhere in forum about this possibility)

Try to guess using your experience. I expect correct answer +/-20% of the reality.

This is very important for me to think to pay for VMWare Player + second windows licence + Vimalin - if it takes to long - no sense.

Thanx in advanced.

Best regards

Hi,

I've a little problem with the backup routine. I've configured the vimalin to keep only one copy of the backup, because it's fine to me only having another copy of the VMs on another server. But if a backup fails because it can't copy all files, the previous healthy copy is getting deleted too, so I don't have a copy. Is it possible to add a configuration switch to delete previous copies only on success?

Kind regards,
