(This post was last modified: 2025-02-25, 15:07:13 by nickh1011.)
I've installed on two separate machines - one is Mac Studio running apple silicon M1 Ultra, other is Intel MacBook Pro.
Mac Studio is running Sonoma 14.7.4, MacBook pro is running Sonoma 14.4.1
On both machines when I configure and try to test the email settings the application crashes and quits.
From what I can see the backup jobs are running correctly, but I receive no email notification of job success and can't test my email server settings are correct due to the repeatable crash.
VMWare Fusion is v13.6.2 in both cases.
Apple crash report states:
PC register does not match crashing frame (0x0 vs 0x7FF8A2602A78)
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 6 Abort trap: 6
Terminating Process: Vimalin [2861]
Application Specific Information:
Invalid dylib load. Clients should not load the unversioned libcrypto dylib as it does not have a stable ABI.
abort() called
Error Formulating Crash Report:
PC register does not match crashing frame (0x0 vs 0x7FF8A2602A78)
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi,
Yep, known issue since Sonoma.
Sorry that it hasn't been addressed yet, will try to put it on the schedule to look into next week, it's way overdue.

I am experiencing the same issue. TLS just quits the App. SSL crashes the App and generates a crash report exactly like this one. I just posted a thread. Feel free to erase it if you need to :-)

Hello,
Valid question.
Sorry, there's been a bunch of other things that pushed back the schedule on this.
It has now been rescheduled for the 2nd week of April (so in two weeks from now)
My apologies, I will try hard to not let the schedule slip again.

Not yet, just finished up something else that was promised for last week and sadly there's more where that came from.
So still in catch up mode... something that is far too common in IT and why normally I never promise any dates.
This issue however is something I badly want to be fixed which is why I gave a date.
Right now I still expect to get to look into this before the end of the week.
That doesn't mean it will be fixed this week (as I suspect it isn't an easy fix), but once I get to it.. it will be addressed one way or the other.
In other words.. it's almost on my horizon now.

Any updates? Sorry to keep bothering you. I need to deploy a Mac Mini for a data center application and I need to be informed if a backup fails as soon as it takes place.
Thanks for your support!

I understand, but our focus was on releasing version 2.0 of the AntView control. That has just happened, so with that out of the way we can start to look into other things, such as this issue, after catching our breath for a bit.

Hello. Is there any chance you can release a fix before the end of this week? Thanks!

Hi,
It is literally the next thing on my list and I'm starting to look into this today.
Is there a chance it is fixed this week. Yes, there's always a chance.
Is it certain? Hmm.. not sure yet as I am about to dive into this, but hopefully I can address it quickly.
Time will tell.

Seems I made some progress on this issue today.
Was it you that bought a license earlier this week? (I see some resemblance with your username, but IIRC then the emails don't match) Not done yet, but I might have something to test tomorrow, with a bit of luck.

Yes. I just bought a license. I used a different email to make the purchase. That’s all

That's fine. The reason I asked is that with an expired demo license you could only test the user interface "Test" button, while with the licensed copy you can actually test the "backup succeeded" confirmation as well.
I will contact you via the email address from the sales confirmation later today with a link to a test version.
