Nope, can't reproduce this, it works fine for me.

Used this as test page: https://www.antwise.com/test/GTGeek88-dropdown.html

Then made a small tweak to the VB6 example to load that page instead and added the following line to the click event of the Fill Form button:

  Document.ElementValueByName("MakeID") = "66"

   

You're using VFP from the looks of it, but I don't expect that to be any different.
