Hi,
OK.. seems the workaround still works.
So what I did is the following.. first I downloaded the latest ISO disk image for Windows 11 from Microsoft.
The Windows 11 iso is available from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software.../windows11
and the arm version specifically is here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software...ows11arm64
Then use that to create a new virtual machine from an ISO file.
Just keep the defaults, including the encryption stuff (remember the password, use something easy)
Before starting the VM, click on customize the VM configuration.
Delete the TPM
Change the encryption default and remove it after providing the password.
Now you can start the VM, continue until you are at the screen where you can choose between the various Windows 11 version (Home/Pro)
- Select Shift + F10 on the keyboard
- In the presented command prompt window, enter the following:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig /v BypassTPMCheck /t REG_DWORD /d 00000001
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig /v BypassSecureBootCheck /t REG_DWORD /d 00000001
(Note: type with care, unfortunately you can't copy and paste)
I had problems here inserting a backslash character (\).. and I got around it by holding the "Alt" key and typing 92 on the numeric keypad. This worked for me as I have an external (windows) keyboard attached. Let me know if you also bump into thi and are not able to workaround then I will try on my mac keyboard.
- Close the command prompt window
- Select the Win 11 type you wish to install . . . and continue as per normal
This then allowed me to install Windows 11 without encryption and without a (virtual) TPM.
