Back up "shared" VMs on VMware Workstation 15.5? Auto-compress scheduled backups?
#5
ok, thanks for confirming.

Also, another good feature would be the ability to select multiple VMs and assign a schedule to all of them as a group, so when the backup of the first VM is done, the backup of next VM in the list starts automatically.
Right now, from what I see, I have to assign a schedule to each VM individually. So, if I want to back up 3 VMs, I need to create a schedule for 4am, another one for 5am and another one for 6am, then assign each VM to one of these schedules.
But what happens if the backup of one of the VMs takes longer than 1 hour? They will overlap; or if the backup of a VM only takes 15 minutes? The backup process will not do anything until the next VM backup is scheduled to start, 45 minutes later.
Hope this makes sense, or maybe there is a way to do what I say and I just missed it.
Thanks!
