Vimalin for Windows 2.5.474 update
You can download the update for Vimalin from:
https://www.vimalin.com/download/Vimalin-Setup-2.5.474.exe
(or use the Vimalin -> "Check for Updates" menu option)
How-to update
First uninstall the old version from the Add/Remove programs or in Windows 10 the Settings -> Apps & Features screen. If you keep defaults you are fine and nothing changes.
Only after the old Vimalin is uninstalled run the installer to update to Vimalin 2.5
Here's the list of changes since version 2.5.459:
General changes
- All the main screens of Vimalin can now be resized by the user. The size set by the user is remembered for the next time you run the application.
- Windows installer: added support for silent install via the /S or /s command line switches. When using the silent install option, you have to provide username via /USER="name" or /u="name" and password via /PASSWORD="pass" or /p="pass". The command line options are case insensitive.
Backup Target:
- When importing VMs it now also import the duration for how long it took to make the backup.
- Trying to import a VM that was deleted from the Backup Archive without the backup target attached did not work. In other words, the backup was deleted from the database, but not on disk.
- Vimalin did not detect the VMware Host Guest filesystem (VMware shares when running in a VM).
Backup Archive:
- The archive grid now also has a size column.
Backup Archive Details:
- Shows TotalSize correctly when the VM is imported.
About screen:
- The name/company name of the registered user had problems showing some characters because of using the wrong encoding. Fixed.
